it has been a while since i did this mounteneering course in alaska. it was great. gorgeous peaks and huge glaciers without names. that summer was very dry  with many fires across alaska and yukon. as you can see in some of my photos, smoke was in the air even high on glaciers. but we had good time anyway. we climbed, hiked, told stories, practised crevasse rescue and we ate some gourmet oatmeal. interestingly, we were pooping into plastic bags for the time of being there which i assumed was to keep the glacier clean. It was great that our instructors were practising LNT camping and I thought it was all going to be flown out to keep our alaska clean!! hahahha....to my suprise, bags and their content were thrown into a huge crevasse. well, i know alaska is huge but those goodies will come out of the glacier eventually...hmmm..do not hike under this one or you might step into . . . .  ;)
